The title wooden refers to two meanings. The first is the literal one, made of wood, like the material of the instruments used in the piece (marimba, log drum and wood block). The second is the metaphorical one – rigid, tied – and refers to the limited physical perimeter in which mallets, fingers and instruments play and interact with each other, as well as to the compositional perimeter in which, technical-instrumental choices and a transparent economy of sounds and harmonies, become the source and the continuous place of the entire piece.
