Further In

for cello and piano

Further In is almost a solo for two instruments: here the virtuosity is the individual control in the tightened joint of the instruments, always onward, aiming to the fusion with the other in order to become one thing, inseparable.
Further in is a closed form tending to a circular form. There is not a real development but rather a juxtaposition of slow micro variations of materials that always reappear, shoring up lines and space, towards a release, a stasis on hold, pulsating.
It’s a gait, a Wandern without climax which nevertheless contains a strong vectoriality towards something mysterious, so far away and so close.
